Beamish – A most complete working Preservation Site in North Yorks.

At the Amberley Chalk Pits is a 36 acre Working Museum with a narrow gauge railway preserving the industrial heritage of the south-east. The museum contains a wide range of exhibits; the Southdown bus collection, the village garage, industry-based collections, such as the Print Workshop & Wheelwrights.

Llangollen, a restoration in North Wales of a line that was closed in the 1960s.
The heritage trains now operate at weekends for most of the year.

The Severn Valley Railway is perhaps the largest restoration railway in
the United Kingdom. A railway preserving the industrial heritage of the iron country of Shropshire.

Australia

In Victoria, the Puffing Billy Railway in the Dandenong Ranges.
Saved by the Puffing Billy Preservation Society from certain demolition in 1954 when the Upper Fern Tree Gully to Gembrook route was to close.

North America

The Black River and Western Rail Road at Ringoes, New Jersey, offers scenic train excursion and hot air balloon rides from Flemington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey as well as shortline railroad services.
