The Annual General Meeting of the NZRLS will be held on Saturday 19 October 2024 starting at 2.00pm. The venue this year is the Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club, Logan Street, Upper Hutt. The club is easily accessible by car and by Metlink public transport.
This year is the 80th anniversary of the founding of the NZRLS. To celebrate this milestone there will be a complimentary luncheon at the club for members and volunteers prior to the AGM commencing at 12.30pm. In conjunction with the AGM there will be organized visits to two places of railway interest.
Full details of the “80th Anniversary Luncheon and AGM” on 19 October will be available in mid- September on the society website (railsoc.org.nz) and by email to all members with email addresses. The details will also be in “Turntable” 209 due out in late September. In addition, a hard copy of the details of the events of the day will available by post on application to the Secretary.
Members who wish to receive hard copies by post of all AGM papers, including the Agenda, the Annual Report, the financial Performance Report and Minutes of the 2023 AGM, should contact the Secretary. Copies of these papers will be in the member’s section of the society’s website (railsoc.org.nz) prior to the meeting and hard copies will be available for members attending at the meeting.
Notice of motions to be considered at the AGM need to be in my hands by 20 September 2024.
Finally, there will be elections at the AGM this year of the following officers: President, Secretary, Treasurer and four Board Directors. Nomination forms are available on application to the Secretary and completed forms should be returned as soon as possible to him.
